When you are on the other end of it…………

You know, it’s mighty funny how self-righteous we get when we are on the other end of things that don’t go our way.  I watched in amazement on Sunday as Dallas linebacker Keith Brookings went after the Vikings sideline because Brett Favre threw a late 4th quarter touchdown pass in their blowout win over the Cowboys.  I bet if the roles had been reversed he would not have felt the same way.  I immediately thought back to October 25th when the Cowboys beat the Atlanta Falcons, Brookings former team of 11 seasons 37- 21.  After every good defensive play that Dallas made, Brookings would make a point to taunt the Falcon players on the sideline.  One play after making a tackle for loss close to the Falcon sideline, Brookings gestured and mocked the Falcon players and coaches, many of whom he played at least one of his 11 seasons in Atlanta as a teammate.  Brookings took advantage of every opportunity he could to rub it in their face when he made a play.  So guess what Keith, “turnaround is fair play”!  You reap what you sow!!  It’s no fun when the rabbits got the gun! You are a professional athlete, so stop you’re whining and banging on the Vikings for doing what they are suppose to do……score points.  The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent, until the final whistle blows.  If you don’t link it, then stop them from scoring.  If you can’t do that, then it’s you teams fault, not the Vikings. Again, this is professional sports, not high school or college.  There is no mercy rule!  You don’t cry “uncle”.  In the words of former Green Bay Packers linebacker Tim Harris during a game, “this ain’t no tennis match”

A definition of class-less, is Yates High School in Houston beating Lee High School 170 – 35 in boy’s basketball.  When you are demoralizing teenage boys by beating them by 135 points because you pressed them after every made basketball of the game until the end.  Now that is class-less!!

I agree with you about Brookings acting like that. I’m a Dallas Cowboy fan and if we were in the lead by 50 and had another chance to score I would score twice if I could. Its a competition and if your not ready to play a good team, don’t play, but if you decide to play, don’t cry about it. Call me what you want, but I believe if I work hard to make myself a better player on the field, court, or what where it is. When its time to showcase my skill, I’m going to do it at 100%. If that means I win by 50, 100, 200, so be it. Don’t hate the players, hate the game.

First off…Keith Brooking is the reason that Atlanta lost in the playoffs to Arizona last year when he blew his coverage at the end of the game…and for him to show no class against an organization that employed him for 11 years and were he had forged hundreds of relationships is inappropriate in my opinion. Not from a sense a loyalty to the organization, but you would think that some of the people within that organization were friends that he wouldn’t want to show up….So long story short, it happens…people commit classless acts when they are in particular situations. I don’t really have a problem with him heckling ATL when they beat them…his prerogative…Free World. But C’mon Keith, don’t become a hypocrite when you and your CowGirls get dusted the way you did…Yes, they did run up the score on YALL and I enjoyed every bit of it. Hey it happens, but don’t cry about their lack of class(if it is considered that) and then pose as a saint. You need to be complaining to your offense about scoring THREE POINTS…LOL. That is what Mr. Brooking should be complaining about
